LOL this article raises the possibility that early in the split of the human and chimpanzee lineages there was a rejoining and the final split. Ahem, in lay terms human ancestors stopped breeding with chimpanzee populations to establish a new species but later interbred again before splitting again .. see this pic for a visual explanation
